Below is an article that our firm’s John Sherrod co-wrote for the Georgia Trial Lawyer’s Association’s official magazine, The Verdict. It details an important case that our firm tried in Douglas County and the subsequent lengthy appeal that resulted in a change in the law that disfavors consumers harmed by dangerous products. Fortunately, our clients prevailed but the drastic change in strict liability law by Georgia’s highest court must be addressed by the Georgia legislature. Otherwise, makers of dangerous products that harm consumers will more easily avoid responsibility in Georgia.
